RAW MELODY MEN

#1 Posted by Richard Yandle on March 9th 2001

It must have been around 88-89 when I stumbled accrossThunder & Consolation at a mate's house...it was like falling in love with music all over again...soon after NMA toured the Impurity album and I can remember that gig in Portsmouth like crystal....the then still fairly unknown Levellers kicked off the gig and things
just got better and better from there...it was a blistering gig...Space, Smalltown England, Vagabonds, Lust for Power..classics...andJustin sliding accross the stage guitar in arms anouncing that NMA were the last great punk band..I couldn't disagree with that.
The only way I could make it to the gig that night was in a car with no tax/mot/insurance/exhaust...and on the drive back..no lights ! I was caught..I was fined... £500
and six points..my most expensive gig ever....but it was worth every penny....Raw Melody Men brings together gigs from this time.
Listen and enjoy.
