Newsletter #6 - March 2004

Justin Sullivan and Friends Tales of the Road The Justin, Michael and Dean live album is finished and the first copies are now available for purchase in The Shop. It will be in all good high street shops next month.
The DVD, recorded in Darmstadt last year will be released early next month. |
North American Update As with last year it is the final pieces that take the longest. Justin & Dean plus Michael playing percussion are returning for a lengthy trip in April. Bringing Michael allows for a greater breadth of material and brings us one step closer to the full band - still our ambition before the end of the year!! The tour as it stands now is April May 1 - Charlotte NC As you can see we are still negotiating some dates so please keep the suggestions coming usavenues@newmodelarmy.org

Sound has been mixed by the band with producer Chris Tsangarides and the results are sad to be outstanding. Work is underway on the visuals and we hope to have a lot more to report (such as what it will be called) when we get to the April newsletter

South Africa tour CD
Another reminder that to coincide with the dates in March a limited edition compilation CD is being produced for the South African market. Entitled "Original 20" it is a collection along the lines of Great Expectations but featuring a slightly different listing: It has been produced by the organizers of the tour to help offset the high cost of bringing us to SA and will be limited to 2000 copies. It will only be available at the shows and at branches of Look & Listen - a chain of CD stores in SA who are helping to promote the dates and are also selling tickets, although that said, we are bound to smuggle a few copies home and hope to able to offer limited quantities through The Shop!

Attack Attack Records
The label set up by the band to release new material by NMA has just releases it's first non NMA product. We are proud to be producing our friend Rev Hammer's new studio CD "Spitting Feathers". It is currently available in The Shop and will be on general release soon. We will be following this up with the new album from Dave Blomberg's excellent side project Nozzle. The album, entitled "Twisted Vision" will be released in the early summer to coincide with a European tour which is currently being put together. |
